It's so cold here even the bronze statues move south.

On nearly every corner in Dillon there are beautiful live size bronzes.

The locals told us that an artist puts them on the corner for sale in the summer and then sends them to Mesa, AZ for the winter.  It's cold enough today to send them south.  They are expecting an inch of snow tonight!
These are the cabins that are for rent at Countryside RV Park.

They try to accommodate every ones style of lodging.

How does two dollars sound for entrance fees?  Yep, that's what it cost to go to the Beaverhead County Museum if you're a senior.

There was a one room log cabin which was built in 1885 by Thomas W. Poindexter, son of Philip Poindexter, one of the original owners of the P & O Ranch.

There was even a unique outhouse.

I found this very interesting.  I was wondering if Susie and Denny Orr are related to these Orr's.

This fountain  includes a horse trough, a drinking fountain and a watering spot for dogs and cats.
It's such a welcoming site that the rabbits are on the sidewalks.
The Argenta School was built in 1910 and classes were held continuously for over 60 years.  The school was abandoned by the school district in 1971.

The museum included a Lewis and Clark diorama.

One of the buildings was a restored 1909 Union Pacific Depot.

It was a fun day and there's lots more to see in this small town.

  1. Isn't it just amazing what you can find in these small towns. But snow - no, no, no.
