Daughter's Day Special

Follansbee, West Virginia
Meadowbrook RV Park

Yesterday was a very special day.  What better treat for Bill than to be invited to Shay's for a home cooked meal and also have Misty there too.

An orange shirt with West Virginia 1863 printed in camo letters couldn't be a more perfect gift for a West Virginia born fellow.
.
And a pair of shorts to match the shirt.  Sorry Doug, I don't think they'd fit you.
Misty did a pencil sketch of a western cowboy turtle.  I don't know how she came up with the idea, but it is perfect.
Here's a close up.  It says "Turtle Safely Y'all."

Bill was a little teary reading the sentimental cards.
Shay had a fabulous meal!  She's an excellent cook.
It didn't take Bill long to finish his first plate of food.
After dessert we sat out on the porch and solved a lot of the world problems.  Courtney arrived as dinner was about over and she was famished.  The day was beautiful and will be unforgettable.

Typical twenty year old Courtney--Home for food and then gone again.

After many hours, we headed for home before it was dark.
Bill and I framed the pencil drawing of the cowboy turtle.

Bill and I both agreed on the perfect place to hang it.  What do you think?
Do you like Bill's new outfit?  He's so picky to buy for, but when he likes something it's hard to get him to change and he loves this outfit.

They are calling for showers and storms this evening.  It's supposed to be the first warm days of the year.  It looks like we may finally have the humid weather that we remember here.

Turtle Safely.....

  1. What a fantastic Father's Day for Bill. And that drawing is just perfect. We're in Helena and it is raining and cold (well people up here think chilly but I think cold).
