We Now Have a Cool Truck!

Goshen, IN
Elkhart County 4H Fairground

I'm so happy we now have cool air conditioning in the truck.  Thursday we drove to Warsaw and the shop there diagnosed the problem with the AC.  They ordered the parts which were supposed to arrive at 11:30 am yesterday.  Our appointment was scheduled at noon.  We drove in 10 minutes early and the truck went into the shop immediately.

When we had Whitehead's do it in Yuma last fall, we had to get a rental car because it took so long.  That shop charged us $2,000.

This shop today charged $490 for a new dryer including installation.  You can just look at the difference in the part.  The Whitehead one was silver which looked bad against the black radiator.  It was flimsy compared to this one.  Lucky for us, since it was replaced last November, it was covered under warranty.  This shop had it installed and finished in an hour and a half.

The Montana Owners Club (MOC) starts on Wednesday but I think we have nine here already.  I know a few more members that are arriving tomorrow.
I took this photo on the drive over from Weirton to Lima.  It's a shame this company went out of business.

We enjoyed happy hour with friends this evening.  We'll have to do it again as we haven't solved all the world problems.

Bill, George and Rosetta

Dennis studying his phone.

Linda and Joe talking about his new steps.

I'm not sure why someone from Texas is sporting a Notre Dame t-shirt.

Look what Dennis and Linda brought us.  If you've been to Elkhart County, you know how good these are.

Actually, there were two, but by the time I got this photo, we've already shared one.

I know I've been falling behind, but that's all the photos I took.

It will be getting very busy in the next few days.  It promises to be a fun time.

    1. Just because you said it George, we'll keep the happy hours going strong. Would you like us to solve the Canadian problems too?

  2. We just had the same experience with the work of a previous part having to be redone. In our case it was a total cheat. They charged us for a part they did not replace and we had to pay again to have it done. Glad yours turned out better.

    1. I just feel that a repair can't be 4 times more expensive than another place. Of course, when you're in Yuma, you'll pay anything for AC.

  3. My girlfriend and friend have a ton of those baskets. The problem was they just kept raising their prices.

  4. First time reading your blog and noticed where you are at present. My wife, Pat, sister Gayle and her husband John Devall from Chatsworth, Ontario Canada, will be attending the MOC rally also. They have a new 2017 Montana that they will be taking on their first trip out.
Good to get your air conditioning fixed, hope that's the end to any problems.
Will be following along more frequently, take care and safe travels.

    1. It's a small world. We know John and Gayle. I hit a branch on a tree and punctured part of our roof. We were out enjoying the countryside and it looked like rain so John climbed up on our roof and repaired it. That goes to show you what great folks they are.
