Civilization

Big Bear RV Park
Palmer, Alaska

Short blog tonight, it's been a busy day.  We left Glennallen this morning and drove on the Glenn Highway to Palmer.

Here's how light it is late at night.  We walked over to the gas station last night for an ice cream bar.

You'd think we'd get tired of being surrounded by all this beauty.

Check out poles that look like light poles.  Just an indication of how high the snow piles up.

We stopped to take pictures, but no way can these photos look the same as being here.

I liked this photo as it looks like a mountain within a mountain.
The highway was in much better shape than yesterday.  We did not have any delays for construction.
Boo was taking Carlena for a stroll during a photo stop.
It seemed strange when we finally got to Palmer, a town of 6,900 people.  It really seemed crowded.  Traffic lights and cars--it's been awhile since we've seen them. We only saw one bear and some sheep.

  1. , 6,900 population is huge compared to where we lived for over 25 years population about 1,200, is big enough for us. Keep enjoying the trip.

  2. Pictures never do justice to what we actually see. But the mountains are magnificent. A traffic light - heaven forbud. Lol

I think somewhere on the road between GlenAllen and Palmer is someplace I could settle and live!!
