Our First Texas Barbecue This Year

Junction, Texas
South Llano River RV Park

The three rigs rolled out of Van Horn about 9 am.  It was another gorgeous but cool day.

I called the RV park about an hour out to make sure they had 3 sites.  The women told me she had plenty.  We have stayed in Junction before and liked the location of the park because you could walked to town.

Bill was in the lead and he pulled into the park.  Somehow when I called, I contacted, I thought, the park we had stayed at before.  It is right along the Llano River.  Now there is a South Llano River RV Park, and a North Llano River RV Park.  The lady was very nice and sent us down the road two miles.  I believe they are sister properties.  This park has huge sites right along the river.

As soon as we were parked, dinner was discussed.  It was unanimous, Lum's Barbecue.

Carlena and Linda wanted barbecue and there is only one in town.  We'd walked over to it the last time we were in the North RV park.

You go up to a counter and order either a plate or sandwich and pick your sides.  There's bags of chips and stuff and coolers with drinks.  Once your plate is ready you carry your tray back to the table.

There are different sauces you can try.

Everyone was surprised that George missed his mouth.

We love these old western towns.

This area is definitely a hunter's and fishing paradise.
