Paris Cabaret Show--Eiffel Tower

Paris, France
MS Bizet

Too late to catch up on the last 24 hours.  This will be an abbreviated blog.

Last night we went to the Paradis Latin Cabaret for a dinner and show.  What an enjoyable evening.

Our tour guide escorted us to the show. The driver pulled up in the front and it was a few steps to the door.  I was concerned about cigarette smoke but Anne, our tour guide, told us it was illegal to smoke inside a business.  No wonder we kept seeing people outside the stores smoking.

Our tables were right next to the stage.  When we sat down, we were giving a bottle of champagne to share among the 4 of us.  I don't really enjoy champagne but we all agreed this was much better than any we've ever had.  If the champagne wasn't enough, there was also two bottles of wine.  The meals were excellent!

The show was like nothing I've ever seen before.  We now know why Paris is number one in tourists.

The show was much more than can-can dances with a little nudity thrown in. The trapeze act was right over our heads.
Look how close Linda and George are to the stage.  We weren't allowed to take photos inside.  A girl came by and took photos of the Morey's and us and then a group photo.  They were presented to us in nice frame at no additional charges.  We laughed and clapped so much.  If you are ever in Paris, a cabaret is a must.

It was after midnight for these old folks, before we got back to our hotel.

Today we were transferred from the Crowne Plaza Hotel to our ship the MS Bizet.  Of course, we were still given some more information about Paris and its history on the short drive to the Seine River.  The official cruise starts today.  We elected to do the pre trip for extra days in Paris to rest up and get over jet lag.  I know now, we'll rest when we get back to the states.

I think we are going to have to learn to enjoy champagne.  There were chocolates to go along with the champagne waiting for us in our room.

When we boarded the ship we were immediately treated to a great lunch which includes bottomless glasses of wine and beer.

We are a couple of blocks from the Eiffel Tower.  Our local guide gave us a lot of information on the Eiffel Tower--which I immediately forgot.
We were very happy we didn't have to stand in the long lines where people were waiting to purchase tickets.

Photos can not possible show you the size of this monument.

Our tour included a trip to the summit.

Once we returned from the Eiffel Tower, it was time for dinner.  The waiters do not want to see a glass of wine half full.  In the past this cruise line only gave you one or maybe two glasses during dinner.  It has changed to unlimited, even anytime you want some.  George enjoyed draft beer with his dinner.

It's very late, and I am exhausted.  I'll just post a couple of photos.
I'm happy that we have free WIFI which is very fast.
For those of you who have never been to Paris, the Otis elevators which have been in existence since 1889 are unique.

They go up but at an angle.  It's hard to explain the feeling you get when going up.

I can't remember who it was that was asking for our customer number so they could get a $100 discount for booking a trip but here it is:  #569832.  You just need to mention this number and our name if you book any of their trips or OATS.  This is our 9th trip with Grand Circle Travel (gct.com) and George and Linda have already said, they won't be taking anything else in the future.  If you've never done one, you need to give it a try.

I'm too tired to blog anymore tonight.
