Yesterday Rusty called from the body shop to tell us he had the estimate for the repairs to the fifth wheel when it was dinged at the tire shop. Can you believe $3936.55? Wow, no wonder insurance rates keep climbing.
We had visitors yesterday. Harry, Carlena and Boo came down. Boo went running out in the backyard looking for Bill. It was great seeing them and as usual we never run out of things to say.
We all climbed into their truck and took off for lunch. Bill saw the fish and chips sign at the Airport Tavern so Harry made a u turn back to it. Once we got inside, we found out that the fish doesn't start until 5 pm. Oh well, we each had drinks and decided to go someplace else for lunch.
I had my heart set on fish. I asked Harry and Carlena if they had ever eaten the haddock at Cracker Barrel so Harry drove to it. All four of us ordered the haddock but you also got three different sides. We all ordered different sides. I wonder if the fish and chips will be as good on our British Isles trip.
Harry and Carlena told us we'd be crazy to sell the fifth wheel. It's been such a great fifth wheel and we've added so many things to it over the years.
After lunch we took them out to the body shop to show them the damage on the side of the Montana.
Carlena has a birthday Monday and knowing we probably won't be seeing her before that, we bought a birthday cake. Did you notice the word "bought"? I really didn't want to take any chances on a ruined homemade cake for a special event.
Polly called to let us know how their Alaska trip is going. They were in Denali. I love hearing other people talk about an Alaska adventure. It brings back fond memories of our trip last year with Harry and Carlena and of course, Boo. Of course after she hung up, we all thought of places to mention that she hadn't seen yet.
I have to say, I've been enjoying having the time to follow the Diamondbacks. Nancy Kissack, you need to forget about that California team and become a Dback fan now that you reside in Arizona.
When I downloaded the photo of Harry and Carlena I found some other photos I'd forgotten about.
When we were in Colorado Springs we visited the bug museum. I have to say it was interesting and I was glad we toured it. Of course, staying in the campground where it was located made it convenient.
The May family was featured on the TV show Strange Inheritances.
We had an unusual experience at the rest area on I 25.
Notice the hand dryers in the restrooms?
There are no sinks. The plumbing is under the counter but the sinks are gone. Bill said it was the same in the men's.
Turtle Safely......
Now that's a different bathroom!! Bug museum - ewwwww!!! I'm working on the D-Backs. Been watching their games!!! I'll be a fan in no time Jan!!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd have to pass on the bug museum. Very interesting rest room. I forgot to ask you where you took the rig?
ReplyDeleteBody shop in town. They are storing it there until they start the work.
DeleteWeird, no sinks but hand dryers. Wash them in the toilet? Yuck.
ReplyDeleteI had to do a double take. I walked over to the stainless steel counter and just stared.
DeleteThe bug museum? Oh well. Ouch on the expense to repair the 5th Wheel. However, repairs are never cheap.
