Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds
It was in the 40's when we woke up this morning, but the sun was shining and the temperature was suppose to climb.
Those of you who have been following along, know that we were waiting and watching the weather in Donner Pass. I checked the internet and I didn't see any chains required notifications for the interstate today. Okay, it looks like we are going to the WARE rally.
Bill was behind the wheel today and I was very happy about that. We were hoping that Saturday would mean there was less traffic, but it didn't appear that way.
I have to say the scenery was breathtaking. The snow was very dirty and looked like sand instead of snow.
It was a sunny and bright day and the road was dry. Bill wasn't happy being that close to snow.
See what I mean about how dirty it is.
I tried to take photos through the windshield but there was a lot of reflections. How do you like the orange chicken on the antenna looking at us?
Bill pulled into the Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds about 1 pm. First person I saw was Sharon. She brought up the satellite app on her phone and found a great site without too many trees.
We have sites on the side of us and I'm hoping they will still be available when Bud and Susie arrive tomorrow.
We used our jack pads for the first time this year. There's been a lot of rain here and the grass is soft.
How often do you get a carport with your site?
We visited with our neighbors for awhile before we realized it was time for Happy Hour.
I was surprised how many people showed up for happy hour.
The rally doesn't start until tomorrow.
There was a lot of laughter and noise coming out of this building.
This facility is perfect for a rally.
After Happy Hour we went out to dinner with Don and Sharon Del Rosario.
This was a very nice Chinese restaurant but the service was terrible.
Don did a great job on his duck and had nothing left on his plate.
I'm sure the next few days are going to be busy ones. The rally doesn't kick off until tomorrow.
Turtle Safely..........
Looks like another fun Rally for you guys. I know you will enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the people with like interests.
DeleteKnow what you mean about being that close to snow.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it to the rally safely now enjoy yourselves.
It's about time.
I'm trying to remember how many years ago it was that we saw snow.
DeleteHa-ha! Are you sure that it's April? Seems like it's January! USA is very, very different. We have +19 here
ReplyDeleteWe have never had a carport with any site. That is different.
