Casa Grande, Arizona
Leisure Valley RV Resort
Tomorrow we head over to Lake Havasau City for the annual Winter Blast Pyrotechnic Show. The weather promises to be much better than last year, which was the worst weather since we've been attending.
Bud and Susie had us over for dinner a few nights ago followed by entertainment put on by their RV park.
Jerry was very funny and quite good. He did a ventriloquist show.
He put this mask on someone from the audience which made the mouth open as he talked. It sounds crazy but was really funny.
The second half of his act he played a few notes of songs and asked the audience what was the song and singer. Everyone seemed to participate.
Last night Harry, Carlena, Bud and Susie came over for some burgers. It was one of those days where I was really disorganized but in the end, everything worked out. We all had a good time and before we knew it, it was very late. I felt sorry for Bo and Zoey who had a very late supper.
Even though George and Linda are up in the deep snow, we all enjoyed a group phone call.
Sorry I didn't think to take some photos.
Today Ron and Mary joined us for the annual Gourd Festival. It was fun and even though there were many beautiful gourds, we walked out empty handed.
Bill enjoyed seeing the gourd dressed as a cowboy.
It's amazing what some people see in a gourd.
I was disappointed that I didn't win this one.
Ron and Mary "got gourd".
You can buy gourds and also take lessons here.
This was one of my favorites.
This turtle was in the other building where you could purchase some of these pieces.
It was a lot of fun and very interesting.
Naturally, we stopped for a very long lunch before we parted until we leave in the morning. It was another great day.
Turtle Safely.........
Looks like you are still having fun with friends.
ReplyDeleteHoping to here from you within the next nine days. LOL.
Be Safe and Enjoy your trip to Lake Havasau.
It's about time.
We will be at the rodeo grounds in Lake Havasau City for the Pyrotechnic Show for the week. After that we have to return to Casa Grande.
DeleteJan, where is this?? I want to take a class!!! And I love love that cowboy picture. Any idea who it's by??
ReplyDeletePinal County Fairgrounds, outside Casa Grande.
DeleteLove the gourds, looks like you should have some decent weather and I just know you will have too much fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how the gourds can be painted or utilized for pieces of art. My niece's mother-in-law paints beautiful pictures on gourds. They are just amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I could have been to that gourd festival. Jeri sent me photos just to drive me nuts. lol It looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI remember when you went to the Pyrotechnic Show last year. Enjoy.
We hope to be at Quartzsite and Winter Blast next year again.
ReplyDeleteHope you can make it. I think they will start taking reservations for 2019 next Saturday.
